So many people ask me why the top of the crust is so high in an apple pie. I thought I would take a picture of what the pie looks like before it goes into the oven. The apples are piled this high under the crust! The oven is set to 450 for about 10-15 mins then I turn it down to 350 for the remainder of the cooking time. This high temperature sets the crust and keeps the shape as the apples bake. Enjoy your pies tomorrow!
